A review of The Magnum by LOCAL RESIDENT written on Wednesday 30th of April 2008
SITTING ON THE CORNER OF ALBANY ST & DUBLIN ST IS THE MAGNUM RESTAURANT, RECENTLY TAKEN OVER BY NEW MANAGEMENT, THE WHOLE ATMOSPHERE HAS LOOSENED UP AND THE FOOD HAS CERTAINLY TAKEN A STEP UP, I HAD THE DUCK SERVED WITH SMOKED GARLIC MASH AND A RED CABBAGE AND PORT WINE SAUCE WHICH WAS FAB, I FOLLOWED THAT UP WITH THE HOMEMADE STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING WITH A RICH BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE - SIMPLE BUT DONE FANTASTICALLY WELL. I BELIEVE EARLY IN MAY THE TIRED DECOR IS TO BE GIVEN AN OVERHAUL, NOT BEFORE TIME EITHER BUT THIS IS ONE EDINBURGH EATERY YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY RE DISCOVER..
