A review of The New York Steam Packet by Dave written on Thursday 29th of May 2008
The mussel starters were excellent...but it ended there. The menu is not excessive (3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts) but half of the items posted were not available. The remaining available hamburger and chicken dishes were OK, but not great and the only dessert available came out of the local super's frozen section...not good. Our chef and primary server left mid-meal to play football indicating that his interest is some place else.
We did like the option of bringing our own wine, but that is not enough to bring us back.
The place has a lot of potential and we understand that it once was good...it's time to get back to work. .
