A review of Gerry's by K. McQuade written on Thursday 17th of July 2008
I first visited Gerrys sweet shop 5 years ago, and after visiting Edinburgh again yesterday, my family and i spent 2 and 1/2 hours trying to find it again not realizing the shop was situated at Grassmarket.
Those 2 1/2 hours were worth it, we were greeted with a friendly seller who was only too willing to share with us the History of the shop, and that it was originally owned by Gerry and he had the shop there for 50 years.
You know the saying " like a child in a sweet shop " that's how it felt. All my favourite sweets from my childhood and at a superb price, unlike the pick n mixes you get now that cost you a fortune.
So if your in or near Grassmarket, This shop is defiantly worth a visit, who knows you may have a trip down your own childhood memory lane .
