A review of Medusa by Sylvia written on Tuesday 24th of March 2009
I have a short hair which needs a cut every 6-8 weeks and after moving to Edinburgh I was frankly SCARED to have a chop after having had my hair cut by an excellent hairdresser for so many years. Unfortunately flying back to have a haircut was out of the question so I had to risk a cut in a local salon.
I did my research and came across Medusa salon in Bread Street.
Prices seemed to be customer friendly (40 pounds for a cut, I do not need a color yet)so I booked an appointment with Ryan who specialises in hair like mine = short and medium lengths.
Staff were friendly (except the girl who washed my hair - she splashed water all over my face and I had an impression to be a 5 year old again who is having a hairwash by a mum who is in a hurry because her favourite soap just started on telly!) but I decided to live with that - the haircut was really on my radar.
And it turned out to be a great experience - Ryan spent more than 40 minutes on my haircut. He is very nice, chatty (but not too much) and full of great tips how is best to style your hair on your own. He did a very professional job and I am very happy with my cut. It is exactly the way I wanted (we had a look at some visual references before Ryan started working on my hair - very helpful). Ryan was also showing me (in an extra mirror) every step of a haircut of the back of my head to make sure that it is exactly what I want.
I will definitely recommend Ryan to my friends; it's one of the best haircuts I have had, hands down! Thank you Medusa :)
