A review of St Mary's R C Primary School by Katy written on Saturday 28th of July 2007
I agree with Andy about Peter.
St Marys School is a very good primary school giving a good basic education. I have two children there.
The main problem with kids in Edinburgh who go to state funded schools suchg as St Marys is that a lot of the brighter children leave to enter the private sector in P4. This leaves more under achievers and I notice certain traits amongst children from broken families such as swearing and bad behaviour.
This has had a direct effect on my own children as the balance has been upset in that there are less children left in the school who want to achieve. The main benefit of a private school, is that your child will be well educated with less disruption from those who want to mess about.
This is more unique to Edinburgh as 25% of all kids are privately educated.
