"Calling local office"

I have been trying to track a large enveloped package sent in normal mail. I have been on web sites to find phone numbers for local office. Opening times are stated as 07.30 Monday -Friday. I have found several numbers.....the local one just rings out, another one was some poor woman's house, the other 2or3 were automated services which do not have a link to my problem and do not give an option to speak to a real person. This is rediculous. I have ended up requesting a claim form for missing items.

IS THERE NO REAL LIVE PEOPLE WORKING FOR ROYAL MAIL ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!
