A review of Cross Keys Inn by James Taylor written on Saturday 16th of August 2014
My wife & I drive by the cross keys Lanark road Edinburgh every day going to & from work & always wondered what it was like. It's a really old pub one of the oldest in Edinburgh dating back to 1708. So we visited last week.
Now the pub is lovely & traditional & very friendly. The staff & customers alike made us feel really welcome.
We found out that the down to earth woman coming in & out was the owner who all the regulars seemed to know. Now she didn't know us but acknowledged we were there & personally came over and said goodbye when she was leaving.
We ended up having cheese burgers & a taxi hone later. The juke box is amazing and was never off. Even the local band who play monthly in the pub drink in the pub. So it just shows you how welcoming the pub is.
We will be back & are planning on taking my friends to the bar. The banter and customers & staff welcome everyone. It's a warm welcome. Truly it is.
If you've never been then you're missing out on a wonderful experience. .
