Brian Rattray made a first class violin for me as a Masters Degree present by my wife when I graduated from Edinburgh University.

Prior to this I had a violin from William Hill's in London.

The Rattray violin has given me great pleasure and continues to do so.

Now that it's over 30 years old it has taken on sounds and tones only hoped for with superior instruments and never ceases to become more and more attractive in what it offers the player.

I wish to live for the next few hundred years to see how it will develop - some lucky person!.
