I have lived in the Allan Park area since 1970 and I have always been interested in the name of Happy Valley and why it has been given that name. I have asked people who have been born and bred in Edinburgh (unlike me) if they could shed any light on this,so perhaps some local historian may be able to solve this puzzle. The only other Happy Valley I am aware of is the race track in Hong Kong, but that is a bit far away for a connection. Any chance of anybody knowing the answer?.
