"What a great school St David’s was with a beautiful teacher ."

A review of St David's RC Primary School by Robert Wilson written on Monday 30th of August 2021

Started at St David’s in 1956 . Our teacher was Mrs Harvey . She was like a mother to us , we had her the whole way through primary school . I still have the class photo . I was in the football team that won the Leith schools cup 7-4 . I scored a goal . I still have the team photo . It was the first time the school had won the cup . Every game we won we ran off the ground singing “ When the Saints go marching on “ . Mr Greggo was the coach and Mr Byrne was the Headmaster . I went to St Anthony’s in Leith after primary . Played football and basketball for the school . We got beaten by one point in the under 14 Scottish cup final also were beaten the Edinburgh cup final . Mr Brough the sports teacher was our basketball coach . I now live in Melbourne Australia . Been here 40 years now , get back to Scotland regularly . But COVID has curtailed my trips for the foreseeable future . Hope this finds someone who knows me . Robert Wilson ..
