A review of Royal Victoria Hospital by Isabel Gillard written on Saturday 12th of January 2008
I am currently writing a memoir covering treatment for tuberculosis in 1950/51 at The Royal Victoria Hospital, Edinburgh. It has so far been a poignant journey back, but also a voyage of discovery.
When it is complete a copy will be available for hospital archives. Meantime I would like to acquire photographs of the Victoria, as it used to be at that time, if this is possible. The hospital was opened at the turn of the 19th/20th century, for the treatment of TB. I would be extremely grateful for photographs taken or illustrations made during that 50 - 60 year period.
