A review of Morningside Spice by Jim macdonald written on Friday 15th of February 2008
My wife and I were unfortunate enough to choose to dine in this restaurant last night (feb14th 2008) before going on to the cinema.
We arrived at 19.00pm ONE AND A HALF HOURS before the film at the Dominion, a five minute walk away, and it soon became clear the Valentine’s day was taking it’s toll on the very scarce staff….I could only count one waiter.
Our starter arrive after 45 minutes and I was beginning to realize we wouldn’t make the film after all. Being Valentine’s night we decided that it’s be ok just to eat and see the movie another night, however we were still awaiting our main course 75 minutes after entering the restaurant…..the waiter didn’t seem to know we were there, he then brought the heater for the dishes to be put on, they didn’t arrive………after one and a half hours we decided to call it a night and pay for out drinks and starter……the waiter totalled everything up, including what we’d ordered for our entire meal, not even realizing he’d not brought us it.
A half-hearted apology and we left.
We missed the movie, I only wish we’d missed Morningside spice too.
Jim Macdonald.
